MEET THE DIRECTOR
Mrs. Sabrina P. Robertson, mezzo-soprano, is the high school choral director at Mountain View High School. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the choral program with over 16 years of choral music teaching experience. Mrs. Robertson holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with an emphasis in vocal performance from Columbus State University Schwob School of Music in Columbus, GA (2006) where she studied voice with Earl Coleman. She holds a Master of Education in Accomplished Teaching from Georgia Southern University (2011). She is a proud alumna of the Grammy award winning John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School of Augusta, GA where she grew as a budding singer under Dr. James "Jim" Dunaway. She is an accomplished pianist and songwriter with several copyrighted songs.
Mrs. Robertson taught choral music at Alton C. Crews Middle School for nine years. Her teaching career started over 16 years ago in Dekalb County where she taught choral and general music and expanded to Marietta City Schools where she taught choral music and served as the connections department lead for several years. She received the honor of being named as the 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year at Alton C. Crews Middle School. Her students have earned Superior and Excellent ratings in the Georgia Music Educators Association's (GMEA) Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE). Her students have participated in District Honor Choirs, GMEA All-State Chorus, Trills & Thrills Music Festival, Southern Star Music Festival, Universal Studio Workshop, and Walt Disney World's Performing Arts Workshop.
Mrs. Robertson is an active singer and pianist in metro-Atlanta and regularly volunteers at her church on the music team. Mrs. Robertson is a member of several professional organizations which include the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA), the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), and the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE). Mrs. Robertson is married to her husband, Michael and they have two children. Mrs. Robertson enjoys performing music, reading inspirational books, fitness, and traveling with family. Mrs. Robertson is excited to join Bear nation as the newly appointed director of choral activities for the 2023-2024 school year.
